SPHERIX Farewell The Australian GT Championship

Experienced Event Management Company, SPHERIX have stepped down as Category Managers of the Australian GT Championship effective today due to irreconcilable differences with the category owner.

Director of SPHERIX, Craig Denyer said, “We had a difference of opinion on how the Category should best be run. It is a very disappointing outcome as we had great plans for the Category. Testament to this is the quality of field of cars and Drivers entered for round one of the Series at the Clipsal 500. Notwithstanding we wish all those involved our sincere best wishes for the season.”

In the six months that SPHERIX were Managers they followed their brief to nurse the Category through 2011 and  restructured to set it up for an exciting 2012 which included new rules and concepts such as a new two driver format; aligning the category with the European GT3 Series and a credible Technical platform.

SPHERIX have successfully Category managed the Bathurst 12 Hour Event (2007 – 2010), the MINI Challenge Series and the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series since 2005, where they pioneered a category management agreement with CAMS and a Shareholding arrangement with Ute Owners taking the Series to the commercially strong 32 car field it is today.
