Gold Coast Business Couple complete Acquisition and Merger

After 18 years, Bill West, Director of the Gold Coast based PR & Event Management Company SPHERIX has said “I do” to partner Jennifer Watson.
The two were married today (Friday, 4th November) in the tranquil setting of Pepper’s Ruffles Lodge & Spa in the Gold Coast Hinterland, by Pastor Steven Peach from the Southport Church of Christ.

The two celebrated with a small contingent of friends after only a three week engagement.

“We didn’t want a big ceremony, we’ve been together for so long we just wanted to make it happen,” he said.

English Born West moved to the Gold Coast in the early 90’s, to head up the original syndicate that was instrumental in founding the Gold Coast Indy event, where he met his wife to be Jennifer Watson.

“There was an instant attraction,” he said with a grin. “Part of it was the fact that she was so good at everything she did,” said West.

When asked to describe what he thought of his new wife, he had no hesitation.

“She’s analytical, thoughtful, considerate and fun. A great friend to have and easy to be with.  She’s Interesting and Interested,” said West.

The two worked together for almost eight years before choosing separate careers. Firstly, they worked together at Robertson Consolidated Group Southport, and then for Brisbane based Queensland entrepreneur Ross Palmer.

Mrs West now works for the National Climate Change Research Facility at Griffith University, while Mr West went on to form motor sport event management Company SPHERIX with long time friend and noted motorsport authority Craig Denyer, who is ecstatic to see the two finally tie the knot. 

“I’ve known Bill and Jenny for a long time now and to share in this special occasion was such an honour.  They are the perfect couple in all aspects, Jenny looked amazing and the ceremony was quiet and elegant,” said Denyer. “I am glad Bill and Jenny have finally made it official, because after 10 years of Bill and I being seen together most weekends at the race track, it is nice to finally kill the rumour that we were a couple!”

SPHERIX is a PR and Event Management company whose major clients are the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series and the Australian GT Championship.
