Sieders Racing ready for V8 Ute return

After a V8 Supercar test with Paul Morris Motorsport this week, David Sieders along with teammate Andrew Fisher are ready to test their V8 Utes after a long repair period following several incidents’ at Round 4 of the 2011 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All at Townsville back in July.
2010 V8 Ute Bathurst winner Sieders took advantage of his extra track time this week when he stepped behind the wheel of the Paul Morris Motorsport V8 Supercar (Monday, 5th September) at Queensland Raceway as part of his prize for winning the 2010 V8 Superschool Rookie of the Year Award.

Sieders was meant to test with 2010 V8 Ute Champion Grant Johnson in August however he pushed the day forward to allow for the birth of his second child (Indiana Rose).
The new dad hasn’t been in a V8 Supercar since 2009, when he drove in the Fujitsu Series and also in the main game at Phillip Island and Bathurst with V8 Ute teammate Andrew Fisher, but after the drive is thinking of returning to Supercars sometime in the near future.
“It was great being back in the sedan. Ultimately we would love to return to a full-time drive it’s just a matter of finding the funds but for the time being I’m really enjoying my time in the Utes,” said Sieders.

The Blue Mountains local was pleased with the track time however is ready to focus on the remainder of his V8 Ute year and is looking forward to testing his Ford BF in late September.
“It will be great to get back behind the wheel of the Ute. We had a few issues in Townsville and each race we were caught up in something that did damage to the car,” he said.
Sieders teammate Fisher, also found himself in the same situation in Townsville and his Jesus Racing backed Ford didn’t come out of the Round in a good way. Fisher came fourth at Bathurst in 2010 and after an unhealthy round in Townsville will be looking to make his points at Bathurst count.
“Townsville didn’t go according to plan but you can’t dwell too much on the past and we’ve had a long time between rounds and I’m looking forward to our test day before hitting the Mount. Bathurst is one of my favourite tracks and I can’t wait to get down there but we’re not putting too much pressure on ourselves, we’ll just take each race as it comes,” explained Fisher.
The next round of the 2011 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All will be held at Mount Panorama, 6 – 9 October.
The 2011 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All features 32 Ford and Holden production based V8 racing utes - covering 8 championship rounds, and 26 races through five states of Australia.
